My Christmas Wishlist

I always want a lot of different things, but I never really know what to ask for.

In my mind, I always have a list of things that I would like to have/purchase/get in the near future.

The main thing that I've asked for was an Otterbox or LifeProof Case for my iPad. Now that the boys are getting more into using it, I think a more sturdy case is necessary to help keep it safer. Plus, the trip from school to home isn't always the nicest either as I sometimes forget it's in my work bag.

I've also asked for another pair of moccasins. I have a pair at work, but I'd love a pair to wear as slippers around the house as my current pair of slippers are about 5 years old and have a giant hole in the side.

Don't they just look comfortable?

I've thought about a lot of running/triathlon stuff that I'd like to invest in since I'm making the decision to head more into triathlons, but I really don't want to get everything now since I haven't even done one and can't guarantee that I'll love it (although I get the feeling I will).

Garmin Forerunner 310XT
A new Garmin 310XT triathlon watch would be great. Or a better bike at least!

What I always love and ask for is gift cards. Target, Old Navy, mall gift cards. I could go on and on. I'm one person that absolutely loves getting gift cards from places. I'm pretty good with them and don't really blow them all in one place or on one day. I try to spread them out a bit and try to make them  go as far as they can.

Oh, how I love gift cards!

I do know that as good as the deals are on Boxing Day, I'm not going to be going shopping that day. It's too crazy for me now. My siblings and I used to have a tradition of going shopping on Boxing Day to get new CDs or video games and use our gift cards, but it's just too hectic for me now. Maybe I'll spend a bit of time at the gym instead, working off the Christmas breakfast and dinner from the day before.

What's on your Christmas wish list?

A Christmas of Travels

This is the last year that we are spending the entire holidays traveling around to different places for dinner.
This year alone we're spending a few days at my in-laws (my sister-in-law is having knee surgery so she can't really travel too far), then back to our house, then to my parents' house, then to my aunt's house and finally to my husband's aunt house for a dinner.
I'm hoping that this isn't in store for us with all the driving we have to do!
I'm sure many people would be alright with this, especially when they aren't having to make any dinners or host any people, but call me crazy, I can't wait to start hosting Christmas dinner.
Next year, I'm hoping to host my in-laws at our house and the year after that I'm hoping to host my family and then alternate year after year from there.
I love hosting, decorating and cooking dinner. I rarely even let people bring a dish to help me out. I love the challenge of it as well as the accolades that come from pulling off a dinner of that magnitude!
I've already decided that part of my vacation will be pinning ideas for next year's d├ęcor, table settings, menu ideas, etc. Can you tell I'm a little bit pumped for this!?
cake circle placemats
I'd love to create a table for Christmas that looks like this!
This year, to help quell the sadness that comes from not making a dinner, I volunteered to cook the turkey for my staff holiday potluck lunch today. Last night, my kitchen smelled amazing! I'm hoping that it's completely cooked. I've also created a list of goodies and recipes that I want to try over the holiday. It includes butter tarts, chocolate cookie dough truffles, handmade bread and cinnamon rolls. There's also numerous recipes from the Skinnytaste cookbook that I want to try out.
I'm planning on taking pictures of all of the delicious foods from our potluck today and sharing it all with you tomorrow!
Keep your fingers crossed for me that the turkey cooked properly!

I'm questioning my sanity

This seems to be happening more and more.
At first I thought it was due to the two crazy little boys, but now I think it's just me and my personality.
I signed myself up to do things and then question them.

keep calm and triathlon
Case in point: We have a staff holiday lunch/dinner where each staff member signs up to bring a part of the holiday meal. I volunteered to bring the turkey because I live so close to the school. Now, I'm questioning if I can do it!
Here's another example:
On Wednesday, I voluntarily signed myself up for two triathlons.
The first is 'just' a try-a-triathlon, so the distances are relatively short compared to Ironman ones. I also signed up for one called IronGirl, which is a Sprint distance so there are a few more kilometers involved in this one than the other.

Luckily, I've gotten myself a 'coach'. Technically, she's a good friend from work, but she's done IronGirl before and she completed the Ironman 70.3 in Muskoka last year. I figure she can help with advice and some of the more technical aspects (i.e. the transitions). She's also going to help me with my swimming. I mean, I can swim, but in a triathlon setting I'm not so sure.
I'm sticking with my goal of doing the Ironman 70.3 in a few years, so I'm guessing this is one of the first steps!

How often do you question your sanity and your decisions?

Am I alone in this?
