Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon Training - Week #2

I'm officially a week behind in my training now.

Luckily, it's still early enough that the miles aren't building on too much more than what I'm used to running.

I unfortunately did not get out for a run once last week!

Life completely got in the way.

Weather, slippery and icy sidewalks, parent-teacher interviews, staff meetings, swimming lessons all combined to ruin my running week.

I was completely exhausted last week.. To the point where I fell asleep on the couch numerous nights in a row before 9:00pm.

I honestly think everything just caught up with me last week and my body just waved the white flag and gave in.

I believe it happens to everyone at some point in time.

This week, I have a better outlook. The long weekend has definitely helped me feel better.

Temperatures are supposed to go up, weather is looking better (minus the little storm we had this morning) and hopefully that means some runs.

I realize too that part of me just needs to suck it up now and get moving again.

I officially switched my half marathon on March 2nd to the 5K.  It's a better choice for me and I'm fine with it. I'm aiming to have a really good race in the 5K distance and then a great race in the half in Washington.

This week, I'm planning on getting most of my runs in adding in some cross training (some 30 Day Shred maybe).
