When Andrew was younger, we had no problem putting Joseph to bed. He'd have his bath, his sippy cup of milk while watching his favourite show and then The Husband would take him upstairs, read a couple books, sing some songs, have some snuggles and then bed. Andrew would be swaddled and down on the couch with me until it was time for his next feeding session.
Once Andrew got bigger, we needed to start getting him into a proper bedtime routine to help setup good sleeping habits.
Our typical bedtime routine involves dinner and then right into bath time (especially now that it's darker earlier and going out to play after dinner doesn't happen). We use JOHNSON’S® HEAD-TO-TOE® which is perfect for Joseph's eczema and Andrew's fairly new baby skin as it's paraben-free, dye free and phalayte-free. I find that the bath time really helps to calm them down before bed. Then it's into pjs, downstairs to play.
Andrew heads up at 7:15, has his bottle and snuggles and then Joseph goes up to bed at about 7:45 and gets his snuggles. Then it's usually a good night sleep for everyone and we're up early for daycare the next day!
I can't wait until we can sit and read books with both boys!
What is your bedtime routine with your kids?
