Operation Smile!

I love kids (as if you haven't figured it out yet) and I love seeing them given the chances to succeed in life. There are so many kids that do not have proper care for certain ailments, such as cleft lip and palate.

Operation Smile is an international children's medical charity that heals children's smiles. The organization is responsible for providing safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
Children born with a cleft are often unable to speak, eat, socialize or smile. That's where the dedicated medical professionals come in. Since 1982, they have completed over 200, 000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, palates or other facial deformities.

How can we help?

One surgery costs $240. That's may be less than what some people spend shopping for fun in a month! $240 can put a proper smile back on a child's face.

If you don't have $240, that's perfectly fine. You can donate any amount over at Operation Smile's secure site HERE and you can even make that a monthly donation. There are options to host a fundraiser or even donate in a friend's name.

There are so many ways to help this cause. Donating is's another....

.....Are you a college student or know one? Even better!

How sick are you of having to buy your textbooks and spending way too much money? There's a website called Campus Book Rentals and every time you rent a textbook they make a donation to Operation Smile.

I wish I had known about this site when I was in my undergrad or even when completing my Masters!

Take this book for example

I had to buy it for a class and have never looked at it outside of those 3 months. What a waste! If I had rented the book, I could have highlighted in it, not paid any shipping and had it at home for the amount of time I needed it and then returned it (instead of taking up space on my shelf). The best part, a donation would have been made to Operation Smile to help some children get their surgeries.

Do you think you can help create some smiles on deserving children's faces?
