I had a conversation with Baby Boy #2 at the beginning of September and told him that he needed to stay in my belly until after tonight. The reason he has to stay in is because The Husband and I are going to Crique du Soleil!
We have gone to almost every Cirque performance in Toronto since we started dating way back in 2007 and I always check the website to see which performance is coming our way!
Tonight, we are going to see Amaluna.
Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon.
Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.
In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.
The best part of the show is definitely the acrobatic performances. There are 13 performances scheduled. I'm really looking forward to the unicycle and the aerial straps.
The other fantastic part of the show is that there is never a dull moment. Even before the show starts there are clowns walking around, goofing off with the audience and getting the mood set. I always pray they won't come my way, which is usually true because we sit more in the middle than on an aisle.
I figure this is going to be one of the last time's The Husband and I will get a chance to get away without the two boys for awhile (since we're only 11 days away from my due date). It was really risky to book it this close to the due date all well, but we figured Baby Boy #2 wasn't coming this early and if he did we know enough people that could have given the tickets too.
What about you? What are you up to this Friday night or even the weekend?
