Due to last week's ridiculous heat wave, I decided to take J to the splash pad for the first time. I figured it would be easier than the pool because I don't have to go in. I found a nice shady spot and watched J splash away.
He was a little shy at first and was a little overwhelmed by the bigger kids running around. However, he eventually warmed up and headed into the water (well, beside the water).
You want me to get in there?
He eventually got sprayed when he was looking into one of the sprayers and that set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. He never jumped through, but mostly got caught when someone stepped on one of the sensors near the sprayer has was standing by.
Having a water break
Do we really have to go home now?
We've taken him again and he's started to interact with some of the other kids there. I think he enjoys it but the water can be pretty cold so he gives in pretty quickly!
What summer fun have you been up to?
