Since we're working on buying a new house and selling the one we're living in, I've had to put away all of my craft stuff. It was a sad day, but it's downstairs in the basement all packed up and waiting to come out in its new home.
In exchange for scrapbooking and hot gluing, I've decided to take up crochet and knitting. My hope is that I'll be decent enough by the summer/fall to open up my very own Etsy shop. Last week, I took the opportunity of The Husband not having volleyball to go take a class on how to crochet! It was perfect. There were two of us and one instructor. She sat in between us and was able to help both of us quickly. I loved it!
Here is the sample I made during my class. I didn't get much done because I had a lot of mistakes that needed to be corrected throughout the evening.
Here's what I've been working on since class. I went to Michael's where they had yarn on for 4/$6. I picked up some cute yarn. I'm just working on getting the tension and stitches correct right now. I'm going to go get my Crochet and Knitting for Dummies back from the library (pay the fine) and figure it all out!
So what do you think? Do you think I have a future in needle work?
