I'm doing really well with my 52 Books in 52 Weeks challenge. I'm surprised I'm keeping up as much as I am, but I read during my lunch period (which gives me a good break from teaching and stressing about teaching) and before I go to bed. I find myself taking opportunities to read often, which is something I got away from and looking back, wished I hadn't.
The book I just finished was Bossypants by Tina Fey. I'd seen the book a couple times on shelves and thought "Ya, she's a funny lady, but it probably doesn't transfer well to a book". Boy, was I wrong! This book was hilarious and extremely interesting!
It is mostly about her career on SNL and the development of 30 Rock, but there are also some gems from her life outside of TV and comedy.
My favourite parts were definitely her breastfeeding story and the "Tits Nazis" as she called them, her story of how she became Sarah Palin on SNL and her prayer for her daughter at the end of the book.
It was a quick easy read and honestly one book I couldn't put down. I strongly recommend this one (and thanks Meghan over at Crazy Casa K for the initial recommendation)!
I've now moved onto the highly anticipated I've Got Your Number by Sophia Kinsella. I've been waiting a long time for this book to come out. I've loved all of her other stories and am really looking forward to reading it!
